The Deep Creek Weekly Round-Up - Ready for Summer and Mother's Day
Coming in for the weekend and wondering what to do at Deep Creek? You're already here and want to be in tune with the latest and greatest? The Deep Creek Weekly Round-Up is for you...
Weather, events, things to do, insider tips and info for May 9th-May 15th
Written on Friday, May 10th...a day late.
THE WEATHER
It's been warm! Until today. 50s and off and on and rain for the next few days. But I think the quick and consistent warm-up we had in April and, according to the long-range forecast, the one we may have here in May, has really pushed our spring greens into high gear!
I feel like it's usually well beyond mid-May when we see all the greenery I'm seeing out there right now. The dandelions seemed early and our trees are already so full of leaves.
THIS JUST IN
The main road to Swallow Falls State Park is STILL CLOSED. They're repairing a small bridge on Maple Glade Road (the main road through the park) and the park ranger I talked to yesterday said they're hoping it'll be fixed by Memorial Day. In the meantime, you can take the "back way" into the park. More info here.
Teachers get 15% off this week at Espresso Alley for Teacher Appreciation Week (May 6-May 10)!
My friend Terah Crawford and I announced the Ready for Summer Party happening at Dutch's at Silver Tree on Sunday, May 19th at 3pm! We're hoping for sunshine and warmth so we can enjoy food, drink and friends on the deck and at Harbor Bar before the Deep Creek Lake busy summer season starts.
THINGS TO DO
Got kids? Need a rainy day activity? I highly recommend the Deep Creek Lake Discovery Center and The Alley.
