DRINKS: Have you been to @shortstorybrewing_dcl yet? My friend @terahcrawford_dclrealty and I were there on Sunday and met a couple who was vacationing at the lake for a few days. For one, it was a first visit to Deep Creek and for both, it was a first visit to Short Story. We talked about the conditions at @wispresort and gave a few restaurant recommendations. CONGRATS to @wildomfarm on the ribbon cutting and opening of their new farm store!!! 🎉🎉 I’ve been friends with lead farmer gal @jufriend for a few years now and have learned so much about regenerative farming, raising animals and how important it is to know where our food is coming from. Julie’s got an awesome story and mission and is doing so many wonderful things at her farm! 💪🏻 And now there’s a farm store where you can shop Wildom eggs and meats. Their famous pork burgers can usually be found at farm and local events, and they’re an absolute MUST-HAVE! COFFEE: We’ve got a new shop in town! @moonshadowrestaurant has decided to turn the front part of their building space into a cafe! SHOUTOUT to @wildomfarm for a wonderfully done brunch event at @friendsvillepublichouse on Sunday. It was a “kitchen takeover” event featuring meats from Wildom, along with other locally grown ingredients. People gathering, conversations over coffee and drinks, indulging in a unique 4-course meal, and seeing one of our own @jufriend take on something new and big…just pure goodness! INSIDER TIP: It’s DUNK weekend!!! @dunk_md is here and it’s a busier time at the lake…especially at @honihonibar and @deepcreekuno ! The Cool Schools Dunk was this afternoon and traffic on 219 was backed up, so I imagine it’ll be even worse tomorrow when the big dunk happens…consider yourself warned! Last night on the snow tubing hill…lots of brown and lots of mud, but man, we had fun! The runs weren’t super fast, but they were plenty fast to get us to the end of the runs. We also were able to link tubes and go as groups because it wasn’t icy or too speedy. I was told Wisp will be making snow tomorrow and that these tubing conditions will be improved for the weekend.
