Deep Creek Christmas Shopping Guide
Happy December! And Happy Snow Day! Garrett County Schools let out two hours early because of the snow and after a couple of inches yesterday, we're waiting for a few more between now and tomorrow morning. All this snow plus all the holiday decor, events and SHOPPING opportunities kicks the Christmas cheer up an extra notch, don't you think?
If you're here in Garrett County living as a resident or if you're coming to town to visit this month, I hope you'll find this guide helpful when out shopping around. I decided to start compiling this list a couple of weeks ago and was a little surprised at how much shopping I found for Deep Creek! Let's get started. 🙂

Book Mark'et & Antique Mezzanine in downtown Oakland - This store is so photogenic...and so full of color and life! My kids thoroughly enjoy our special visits.
Candyland in Oakland and Grantsville - This might not seem like your typical "store" for Christmas shopping, but it's full of candy and other edible goodies that are sure to make exciting and unique gifts. I've given giant bags of candy for gifts before, haven't you!?
Cashmere Clothing Co. at The Fort in McHenry - My friend Marcia owns this place and I always find something I want! A women's clothing boutique with scarves, sweaters, fleece-lined leggings, dresses, jackets...
Christmas Chalet on 219 near UNO's - TONS of ornaments and decor...so many beautiful Christmas trees, including a Deep Creek Christmas tree!
FireFly Farms Creamery & Market in Accident - Well-known cheese available for purchase, along with a large variety of wine and other things that go well with cheese.

Flipside Sounds in downtown Oakland - New in 2019, this record store has new and vintage vinyl, turntables, instrument accessories and more!

Little Crossings Pantry in Grantsville - Their website says "local, regional and foreign products for those who love to cook, entertain and drink." Each time I've stopped in, they've had samples of their yummy gourmet food items available.

Schoolhouse Earth on 42 near McHenry - Fashion items, jewelry, kids gifts, year-round Christmas room...another unique shopping experience in our county.
Simon Pearce Outlet & Glassblowing in Oakland - I hear so many good things about this place...I need to stop in soon! You can watch the glassblowers do their work and buy some of the beautiful glass pieces while visiting. I always see their glass trees adorning windows throughout the county in winter.
Tabitha Robinson Flower Gardens in Friendsville - She's making fresh, handmade wreaths and garland this year! Orders will be taken until December 15th. I've got two wreaths and two strands of garland decorating my house right now.
The Tourist Trap (it's Christmas Chalet's website, but it's the one designated for the Trap, too; they're neighbors) on 219 near UNO's, next to Christmas Chalet - Deep Creek souvenirs for all ages!
Whoa Hannah Creative at Deep Creek - This is my gal pal, Hannah! She's an artist and can paint on just about anything! She does watercolors, custom ornaments, tote bags, and more! She actually just painted a sunset lake scene on an old window for my living room.
