Beyond Local with Tabitha Robinson of Tabitha’s Table: Garrett County Thrift & Antique Shopping

Published: June 5, 2019

Tabitha is one of Garrett County’s most talented, creative and sweetest ladies! I’ve worked with her both as a photography client and wedding professional and have always been impressed by her skills. What started as a faux flower business for Tabitha has now turned into a flower + home influence with her blog Tabitha’s Table. Her flower business also still lives as Tabitha Robinson Flower Gardens and she's constantly creating beautiful pieces for weddings and events, including her own homegrown florals, new in 2019!

Tabitha's list of services and interests includes floral arrangements for weddings and events, recipes, tablescape designs, interior design, and DIYs, but I’ve been most impressed with her thrifting and antiquing abilities! (Wait until you see what she did with thrift store baskets and an empty wall!)

So as post #1 in a series I’m going to call “Beyond Local”, Tabitha is sharing her favorite thrift and antique shops here in Garrett County, along with some shopping advice. Our area has some notable shops and opportunities!

Doors, Windows, Light fixtures: Habitat Home Store

Tabitha’s favorite thing to find: It’s always a really good feeling when I find a specific piece that I have in mind for my home, but my favorite finds are always vintage Christmas décor! I love the history and knowing that there were other people that used the pieces to celebrate Christmas.

And lastly, two quick shopping tips from Tabitha:

Go often. Some days I don’t find a thing and other days I go home with a car full. You never know when new merchandise is going to be donated.

Know what you are looking for before you go. Search for those items first so no one else can grab them up before you do. Then go back through and browse to see if anything catches your eye or inspires you.

I also told Tabitha that we may need to do a vlog episode where we actually go shopping with her! I can only imagine we’d be inspired and amazed at what she finds, and how she turns them into pieces for her home…like what you see pictured in this post! All these pictures were taken by Tabitha and are of the thrift and antique items she’s turned into home décor.

Doesn’t her home space look lovely!? I think my favorite is her basket wall that sits behind her dining room table.
